Here are some troubling thoughts men have:
- Chaos lives in my head. So, I try to never go there.
- I run away from my own ugly thoughts. That’s the best I can do.
- Why would i want to go into my own mind. It’s a junk yard!
- It’s my own mind that scares me.
- My mind is where my worst fears live.
- And, my childhood fears still hold great power.
It’s hard to look deep within yourself. One man wept and begged. “Please don’t make me look at my past.” Just the thought of re-examining his 40 year old story was terrifying. Many of our troubling thoughts are rooted in our past.
Here’s one idea.
The next time you have an old troubling thought. Start repeating the name of Jesus. Keep repeating it. Don’t stop until your brain settles down and gets back in line.
