Chad Warner, addiction counselor, was speaking recently. He said, “You must work on three areas of your life. The three areas include; Spiritual Care, Self Care, and Marital Care.”
Here’s my take on those three areas.
Spiritual Care
We are spiritual beings. We need a spiritual program. That program must explain life, death, purpose and our mission.
Self Care
You live in a body and that body runs a emotional program (Also known as your soul). A healthy body needs a healthy lifestyle. Diet and exercise are your part in maintaining good health.
Your soul program is based on life experiences and interpretation of those experiences. It includes your identity, value, and worth. It also includes griefs, fears, and shame. Soul health is critical to a light, enjoyable journey.
Marital Care
A marriage is either moving towards oneness, drifting apart, or it is stuck. Stuck is where a couple had a great start but one spouse hits an emotional wall. He/she arrives at a place of comfort and just stays there, possibly till death.
I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly.
I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
John 10:9-11 (NASB)
I have come to give you life and give it abundantly.
The goal is embracing growth on this adventure called life.
God bless us all on our growth missions. Amen
P.S. I’ve seen you on the battlefield. Good job! To God be all glory!
