Some of you are aware that I am working a 12-Step program. That includes doing a self inventory. In that inventory, it asks how you identify your needs. So I decided to make a list. Like a Christmas wish list.
I need:
- to be seen and celebrated.
- to be known and loved.
- a place to belong which includes family and close friends.
I need:
- to be valued and enjoyed.
- to be pursued and wanted.
- to be included by a caring group of friends.
And I want to feel important enough to be needed. As I reflect on this list, I realize that I am a “love junkie.” I run on love. I rest in love. I love being loved.
In Closing
The good news is God is love. So I plan to spend a lot of time in his presence and in dialogue with him today.
Prayer
Father, thank you for being love. Thank you for making me just like you. Thank you that today can be a day of resting in your love. Also, thank you for Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Bible Connection
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. – 1 John 4:16 (NKJV)

Hahahaha. The picture got me pretty good.
I think, really, we’re all love-junkies. That’s why we can look around the world at people who have “everything” and they’re still not content. Because we all desire that love, that Real Connection, with someone. And, as you said; God is Love. What more real of a connection can you get than abiding in God, and God abiding in you.
Thank you for sharing.
Yips!!! That’s scary!!
