What if you could divide all your thoughts into two camps: Every thought—either Sane or Crazy.
Take it a step further: What if each camp has a voice, “Sane Brain” and “Crazy Brain.”
Crazy Brain Says-
- I know it’s not good… I’ll just try a little.
- Everyone else is doing it.
- Desires, passions, and needs are all the same.
- God doesn’t want me to go without.
- I want it. Why can’t I have it?
- When I feel bad—I need a little escape.
- It’s unfair to tell myself no.
- This is just who I am.
- I’m not hurting anyone.
Sane Brain Says-
- God knows best.
- Right is right. Good is good.
- Just do the next right thing.
- Discipline leads to freedom.
- Don’t follow the crowd.
- Pray for wisdom.
- Practice the presence of God.
- This is only emotional pain—you’re not dying.
- Keep talking to Abba.
- You’re feeling lonely… do some healthy connecting.
- You don’t have to be stupid.
Close:
Today, practice listening to Sane Brain—and letting the other thoughts pass.
Prayer:
Father, help me choose what is true, wise, and good. I want to think in ways that honor You. Amen.
