What are the important emotions and emotional skills necessary to run a healthy system? Emotions are words, concepts, and tools. They are both a state of being and tools to be used when needed.
Please know this is a simple overview. You are encouraged to explore each of these at a much deeper level. This is a two part blog so there’s a lot to cover. Let’s begin.
1. Curiosity
Your mission is to explore the world your Heavenly Father created. Be curious daily about people, God, and creation. That means every day is a new day to learn something.
2. Feeling Loved
Seek love, walk in love, practice love. You are forgiven, chosen, and deeply loved. Seek Jesus, feel his love, and let his presence make everything else a smaller issue.
3. Peace
Peace is working towards inner tranquility. Practice being peaceful. Strive to be known as a peacemaker. Walk in peace. And bring peace into every room you enter.
4. Rest
Resting is essential for renewal and survival. Being quiet, still, and peaceful is part of your design. Train your brain to rest.
5. Joy
You were made for pleasure, delight, and celebration. Every day God shows up and there is something to celebrate. Look for things to enjoy and then regularly celebrate with God.
6. Passion
God made you with desires, interests, and talents. God made you a unique being. Figure out what you love, then live life with passion and to the glory of God.

Prayer
Father, you made me a spiritual, emotional, and physical being. Thank you. But doing those three things well is hard. Please continue to bless and strengthen me. Help me to embrace deep love, curiosity, and peace. May I rest in your presence, and rest in joy there. Please help me feel deeply loved and flow out that love to others with passion. Amen.
Meditation
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. Mark 12:30 (NASB1995)
Emotions live in the heart, soul and mind. Emotions are involved in loving well.
