Dear Husband,
I am fighting to make us better. Something I don’t understand is, Why are you fighting against me?I am fighting for us. I am fighting for this relationship. Your mom and dad had an emotionally weak marriage, and they were your role models.
We agree. My emotional program is better than yours. It’s important to be honest. Your emotional skills are weaker. To grow we must move towards healthy emotional interactions and better skills.
I don’t mind waiting and being patient. I don’t mind that you’re playing catch up. Please know, i am also aware you have some other amazing strengths. But, why are you emotionally fighting against me? It makes no sense. Please, stop. I want us to keep growing.
I love you!
Signed, your loving wife, who is on God’s mission of growth.

Prayer
Father, growth is hard. Change is hard. Growing up emotionally is hard. Help me with my emotional blind spots. I know my wife wants the best for our family. Please help me grow and not drag my feet or resist you and her. Amen.
