Skill Building series
We all want to run a peaceful emotional system. It’s your job as an adult to periodically review your system and address any thought or feeling that hinders being restful.
Growing up, we all had experiences being called names. Some were insulting and belittling. Even today, some individuals repeat those names when referring to themselves. One example would be after making a mistake, you shout “You dummy!”
Today, all name calling ends.
Skill #3
I will no longer call myself any insulting names. None! Ever!
If it’s been a habit, break it today. If you start to call yourself a name, stop mid-sentence. Then, repeat “I am not doing that anymore.”
No more calling yourself names. Not even if you think you are joking. Today, that habit is broken.
Prayer
Father, I have not been kind to myself. Help me stop calling myself names. Help me see myself through the eyes of Christ. I want more peace and rest in my soul. Please help me break this bad habit. Amen.
