Have you ever wondered how the Holy Spirit and your own Spirit work together? I’ve noticed recently how my Spirit and the Holy Spirit work as a team. This is just one example of the teamwork that Christians experience.
When I’m listening to a podcast or reading a book, sometimes it sounds to me like blah, blah, blah. And then I hear something. When two types of comments are made, they stand out to me. They are emotional truisms and emotional self-condemnation.
Here is how it works. I’m listening to a podcast. Someone is telling their story. Fifteen minutes in to their story, a statement is made. My Spirit is stirred, then the Holy Spirit enthusiastically whispers, “Did you hear it? That’s it! There it is their emotional truism.” (Or, their statement of self-condemnation).
As a reader you need to know my passion. I’m on a mission to run a very, healthy, Soul program. Also known as an emotional program. To do so we need to operate on lots of truisms and minimize self condemnation.
Here are some spiritual and emotional truisms that work in harmony and set you free:
- Abba, Jesus, and Holy Spirit have a great story and community. I was made for that community.
- Jesus loves me. He wants me to be with him forever.
- I live better connected and living in community.
- Building a love story with my wife, over a life time, is my spiritual assignment.
- God loves growth. And, I am on a growth mission.
Here are statements of self condemnation that keep your soul in turmoil
- I am a loser.
- I am different.
- No one wants me.
- I have nothing to offer.
- I never get it right.
- I’m stupid.
Closing
- Make it your life mission to operate on spiritual, emotional and relational truisms.
- Stop all self condemnation immediately. If any pops up, use truisms to soothe your soul back to rest.
Prayer
Father, I love you, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I love your big vision. I love learning about Jesus. And. I love the stirring, prompting, and help of the Holy Spirit. You want me free. So you offer me teachings and truisms. I am honored to be your son and student. Teach me. And, thank you Abba Papa. Amen.
