I’ve been thinking—maybe one day science will make this discovery: The male brain has four parts. And those parts interact in a four-phase flow.
Phase 1 – The Biological Brain
(Also known as the “Horny Toad” brain.)
It is driven by biology, urges, and sexual arousal. This brain is constantly looking for stimulation. It stops developing around age 16—and can keep thinking like a teenager for the next 50 years.
Phase 2 – The Needy-Panicked Brain
(It’s always looking for validation.)
It carries a quiet message: I was never loved well. So it keeps repeating: I need more love, more attention, more affection, more praise. More, please.
Phase 3 – The Longing-to-Attach Brain
(I am desperate to be close- but closeness scares me.)
I stopped trusting people long ago. No one has ever wanted me. People love me because I serve them. No one wants me. My cycle: Come close. But closeness scares me. Now move back. Repeat.
Phase 4 – The I-Am-Loved Brain
(The Abba, Jesus, and Holy Spirit love story settles deep in my soul.)
I’m chosen, forgiven, and wanted; pursued, known, and enjoyed. God connects to me—so I slowly learn to connect to Him and others.
Close-
Science may never say it this way…
but this may be a helpful way to understand what’s going on inside the male mind.
Prayer-
Father, help me bring my mind into alignment with You, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Teach me to live from Your truth—not my impulses, wounds, or fears. Amen.
