Ashley and Jaime Wooldridge are a couple. He is the senior pastor at Christ’s Church of the Valley. They were interviewed on a recent podcast. The Woodbridge’s were humble, open, and transparent.
Jaime made this comment about her early life. “I knew who God was, but I didn’t have any need for him.” Wow! Can you remember being young, full of yourself and having little need for God?
Jaime also shared this thought from the early years in her marriage. “I guess I’m just going to have to learn to be unhappy in this marriage.” That is a very common early married thought. To end up a happily married couple, you must learn patience, sacrifice, and maturity. Negotiating skills are also very handy.
Ashley reflected on the time he arrived at this insight. “You’re not broken if you’re not wired like me.” Good insight! We are unique human beings created in the image of God. No two of us are the same. There’s beauty in our differences And, our differences can end up being strengths.
Prayer
Father, thank you for walking with me through my youthful ignorance. I have always needed you. I just didn’t know it. Now I do and I love you. Amen.
Bible
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. – James 1:4 (NIV)
