Are you on a growth mission? Everyone needs to be on an emotional growth mission. The mission includes working on emotionally weak or stuck areas in your life.
You may or may not know your weak areas. Sometimes they are blind spots. But, if you listen, others will help you see yourself. Here’s some of the things you might hear:
- You have an anger problem.
- You don’t seem very happy.
- Why don’t you talk to me?
- I know you, but you don’t know me.
- I don’t know you.
- You seem so tense.
- Why do you lose control when you drive?
- You have no friends.
- I see you as closed off.
- You drink too much.
- Why are you so private?
- You are very judgmental.
- You seem negative.
- Why are you so controlling?
- You seem to need a lot of approval.
- Why do you always have to tell me what to do?
- You tell good stories but you offer few insights into yourself.
- You are such a fixer.
- Why aren’t you more curious about me and my life?
- You don’t seem very happy.
Remember, emotionally weak areas are doorways into greater self awareness.
If you identify an area of weakness. Ask the Heavenly Father to help you. And, confess the weakness to your spouse or another healthy adult. Those are great first steps on your growth mission. Welcome.
Prayer
Father, help me honestly look at myself. And, help me respond with kindness. Thank you, that you know me and love me. I’m afraid I can not change. With your help all things are possible. I know my lack of growth hurts me and those around me. Please help me on my emotional growth mission. Amen.
Bible Connection
Meditate on this Biblical truth throughout today:
Confess your sins (and struggles) to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
