Dear Holy Spirit, Thank you for coming to live inside me. I’m so glad Jesus sent you. I am a big fan of Abba, Jesus, and you.
My inside self is divided into three rooms. The Jesus Room, the Play Room, and the Back Room. The Jesus Room is my show room. I have a wall full of crosses. There are also Christian concert posters and T shirts. And one bright jersey that reads, “I’m on Team Jesus.”
Now that I’ve done a little showing off I must express my need. I’m sorry, the Play Room is such a mess. I’ve been trying to get control. It’s hard to get rid of old ways. I’ve cleaned up a bunch. But there’s still so much more to do.
Holy Spirit I’m asking for help in these areas:
- Thought control-my thoughts stray.
- Discipline-it’s hard to always be good.
- Sometimes my want to doesn’t want to.
- My mind runs off and does its own thing.
- Invitational thoughts arrive for trips to bad destinations.
- Finally, when Boredom shows up he brings with him his friend Thrill-Seeker.
It’s a mess in here.
My final room is the Back Room. It’s where I meet you in prayer. I’m writing this letter from my Back Room right now. Can you please help me with my Play Room? It’s a mess.
Signed, One who is in Christ.
Prayer
Father, thank you for Jesus and the Holy Spirit. You’re the best! I love being in your presence and telling you all about my life. Thanks for listening and loving me. Amen.
Bible Connection
For we do not have a high priest, who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are- yet he did not sin. – Hebrews 4:15 (NIV)
