You carry an emotional, “free‑will” toggle switch. There are two positions.
Hate yourself or Love yourself.
HATE YOURSELF
It’s not hard to understand why someone would turn the switch toward hate.
- You’ve made mistakes.
- You’ve been humiliated.
- You were criticized, mocked, compared, and called names.
- People yelled, blamed you, and spoke shame over you.
- You were used, misused, tricked, lied to, and taken advantage of.
- You’ve carried wounds that were never healed, burdens that were never lifted.
Of course it would make sense to hate yourself.
LOVE YOURSELF
But then there is a different story. A different voice. A different family.
- Abba loves you.
- The story of Jesus is the story of how love brought you into Their family.
- The Holy Spirit is a Love‑Gift placed inside you.
- You are now part of a grand, eternal, family-love-story.
Close
- Your mind shouts: “Judge yourself. Condemn yourself. You’re so stupid!”
- Your heart whispers: “Love with all of me.”
- Your soul sighs: “I’m tired… I’ve been searching for home and a love-family my whole life.”
- Your spirit says: “This Abba-love-story is my home.”
- Jesus leans close and whispers: “I’ve got you covered. I am in you… and you are in Me.”
The Question:
- Will I hate myself today? (Remember—hate belongs to the family of darkness.)
Or,
- Will I participate in the life of my Heavenly Family?
Will I choose to love myself today?
Prayer
Abba, I am Your son. Help me feel your closeness. And, help me not hate me today. Amen.
Scripture
“For God so loved (ME and) the world…” (John 3:16)
“I am in Christ, and Christ is in me.” (Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:27)
