It’s an odd thing!
Have you noticed how two opposite people always seem to get married?
You have one interested, motivated, emotional-connector. And, that person marries a disinterested, unmotivated, emotional-disconnector.
It all starts fine. But several years into the relationship the emotional-connector starts to wonder, “Why is this relationship still so shallow?”
It’s usually the wife who is asking for more emotional-connection. She wants deeper conversations and to feel known.
Her husband is (usually) more emotionally oblivious and content. He does not understand all the hallabaloo about emotions and connecting. He thinks, “why can’t she just be happy?”
A Note to THE EMOTIONAL CONNECTOR WHO FEELS SO LONELY – God is teaching you how to find joy in the alone place. And, he is using this relationship to grow you closer to himself.
A Note to THE MORE CONTENT, EMOTIONALLY-DISCONNECTED SPOUSE- God, gave you a heart for deep, rich, connecting. Life mistreated you and you closed your heart. Pray for wisdom, insight and to have an open heart again.
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
John 17:220-21
Jesus said- I pray that they may be one as you and I are one.
Prayer:
Father, help us all be on an emotional/spiritual/healing growth mission with you. Amen
