Sam Jolman, author of The Sex Talk you Never Got, made this statement:
“When I came of age, I felt a huge disconnect between how little I was taught, and all the feelings I had inside.”
Isn’t that a great statement. Doesn’t that still apply today? I don’t want to die emotionally ignorant and confused. I want to live an informed life. (Oh! And thanks for going on this journey with me.)
My mind started considering the words informed, misinformed, uninformed and malformed.
- Uninformed* is being uneducated or without knowledge.
- Misinformed* is having wrong or inaccurate information.
- Malformed* is being badly formed or deficient.
Informed
Here’s my plan for living an informed Christian life. I pray for wisdom and ask the Holy Spirit to lead and stir me. Then I go looking for emotional truths from emotionally healthy mature Christians.
Next, I compare discovered insights with the teachings of Jesus. The goal being to discover emotional truths that are in harmony with spiritual truths.
The ultimate goal being to run on the promises of Jesus that I could have peace, rest, and joy.
Prayer
Father, bless me. Help my emotional system run in harmony with your great spiritual truths. I know you love oneness. Me too! Amen.
Bible
Jesus said,
I’ve come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect-life in its fullness until you overflow! (see John 10:10 TPT)
