“I don’t know how to have a deep emotional relationship with my wife.”
- I can be cute, fun, and friendly.
- I can be strong and fix things.
- I can work and make money.
“But, I don’t know how to have a deep, emotional relationship with my wife.”
- I can explain how things work.
- I know lots of facts about many topics.
- I can be average and sometimes exceptional.
“But, I don’t know how to have a deep, emotional relationship with my wife.”
- I have good skills.
- I know a lot.
- And, I can do a lot.
“But, I don’t know how to have a deep, emotional relationship with my wife.”
Prayer
Father, when I was growing up my parents were two regular people. Like others, they struggled to figure things out. And, they struggled living with their differences. I saw the same pattern all around me. There were aunts, uncles, grandparents, and neighbors all struggling with their differences and struggling with oneness.
Now, my wife wants us to be closer. Sometimes I don’t understand. And, sometimes I just don’t want to do it. Father, I need your wisdom and help. I am being asked to go deeper inside myself and my wife. She keeps inviting me into the place of fear, pain, sadness, and regret. I am weakest in that area. You are going to have to help me if we’re going to bond on the deepest level. Help. Please help. Amen.
Meditate today on this piece of scripture.
“ASK and it will be given to you, SEEK, and you will find; KNOCK, and it will be open to you.
Matt 7:7
(ASK, SEEK, KNOCK for help in the area of deep emotional oneness.)
