Chuck DeGroat, author of Healing What’s Within, wrote about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. He said they only knew one way of viewing God and themselves. And it was good. Because they felt they were enough to please God, and they had enough. But then.
Sean Gladding, author of The Story of God, The Story of Us, writes this statement, “The subtle serpent taps into our deepest anxiety as humans: the fear that what I have, no matter how good it may be, is not enough. The haunting suspicion that someone else has it better than me. That someone else is better than me. So, not only do I not have enough. I am not enough. I am less than.”
In Closing
Please watch out for these two lies today:
I do not have enough.
And
I am not enough.
Guided Prayer
Father, thank you that I have enough in your presence. And thank you that today I am enough. Please keep growing me in the area of contentment. I am yours. Amen.
Bible Connection
I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty. – Philippians 4:12-13 (Passion)
