Equipping Christian Men for Richer Relationships

CO

Ken Costa, is a financial advisor. He is the author of, The 100 Million Dollar Wealth Transfer. He was talking about the division in our country and said, “We need more Co.”

I borrowed his term and rolled it into a marriage blog. Here is my question. If you are married, can you Co any better?

Co is a prefix from Latin. It means joint, jointly, and together. Co is used when a couple finds areas and opportunities to work together. And, they help each other reach a greater goal.

Ken Costa says, we need to work together for a common destiny.

Here are some Co areas for growth.

  • Co-planning
  • Co-parenting
  • Co-participating in church
  • Co-investing
  • Co-operating

Co refers to two different individuals pulling together for a Common destiny.

As a couple how are we doing at:

  • Co-leading?
  • Co-working through challenges?
  • Co-sacrificing?
  • Co-learning about each other’s wants, needs and fears?
  • Co-dreaming?
  • Finally, how are we at Co-nurturing each other?

Ken Costa had some closing thoughts about the church. The church cannot narrowly define its mission as purely spiritual. The role of Co destiny in the church is to serve the whole person. We must serve them spiritually, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and culturally. We cannot survive if we do not rediscover what it means to be a Community.

We must learn how to do life together in a rapidly, declining, hostile world. The individualism, isolation, and loneliness of the past is not working. The Church needs hindsight, insight, and the foresight of each generation that attends church.

We must be visionaries and plan our Co destiny.

Prayer

Father, thank you for your vision of oneness. I see it as a mountain we must climb. Together is the only way. Many try and fail. Only with your help can we succeeded. Help me understand the power and beauty of oneness. Your ways are always better. Help my heart, mind, and will be one with you and your vision. Amen.

Mediate on this verse

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

2 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV)
