What is your Third assignment?
- First assignment — Follow Jesus
- Second assignment — Spread the gospel.
- Third assignment — Grow emotionally.
Do you want to change your little corner of the world?
Do you want to do something truly significant—something that has a generational impact?
Then commit to an emotional growth mission.
When you work on emotional growth, you influence:
- Yourself
- Your wife
- Your children
- Your church and community
But if you neglect emotional growth, you unintentionally limit those same people. You may love Jesus sincerely, yet remain emotionally stunted—and those closest to you must also live with your stuntedness.
Choosing emotional growth is a living, sacrificial offering to Abba:
“I will lead my family in emotional growth. They will get to see the Holy Spirit transform me in deep places.”
As you grow:
- Your life becomes more honest and transparent.
- Conversations grow deeper.
- Fear, secrecy, and shame begin to lose their grip.
- A humble, growing father becomes a profound blessing to everyone around him.
Close:
Jesus is our example. He was spiritually strong and emotionally present. He wept and rejoiced. He healed adults and played with children.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the gift of life. I want to live it well. Make me spiritually and emotionally like Jesus. Grow me, shape me, and bless me. Amen.
Scripture:
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52 (NIV)
