If you love God-
Hold on to your 50% truth until it grows.
It will grow into a 75% truth.
Then into a 90% truth and so on.
When I was 20 years old half-of-me (50%) fully believed in God.
And half of me (50%) believed pleasure, peers and adventurous living was the path to happiness.
When I was 40 years old the number grew to a 70% belief in God. He had more weight in my decisions, my thinking, and my direction.
Now that I’m older, I live like I have a 90% belief that God is real and true. And I am moving toward living like I have a 100% belief—meaning my mind, body, and will are in full submission to Him.
What is included in the remaining hold-out 10%?
I get anger and defensive.
I throw fits.
Fear can mess me up.
I want my way.
At times I fudge on the exact truth.
Some times inappropriate thoughts are allowed to linger.
I’m sarcastic.
I don’t care. I don’t feel like it.
And, I don’t want to.
I hold grudges.
I shut down.
I get stubborn
And, I hold on to old baggage.
Close:
So if you live like you only have a 25% belief that there’s a God keep growing.
And if you live like you have a 50% believe there’s a God stay in the fight.
Because once you get to 75% there is so much more peace, rest and joy.
Prayer:
Father, help me to live like Jesus. And thank you for grace when I fail. Amen
Scripture:
“For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh.” Gal. 5:17 (ESV)
P.S. Jesus was the only human who carried his mind, body and will in perfect alignment (100% )with His God nature.
