Equipping Christian Men for Richer Relationships

What’s the point?

I loved my dad. And, he loved me. He’s passed now.

Dad had strengths and weaknesses. One weakness was he wanted me to move fast. If he asked me to do something he wanted it done now! And, he wanted it done fast. No discussion or explanation, just do it. And, do it fast. That created in me a lifetime of fast and shallow. One day, well into adulthood, I realized I was lopsided.

Yes, there is a place for fast and shallow. But, there is also a place for slow and deep. So, I’ve spent many years practicing slowing down and going deep.

What’s the point of this story?

Your parents did their part. They raised and trained you. Imperfect parents train imperfect children. That’s life.

The question is are you emotionally lopsided? Are you overdeveloped in one area and underdeveloped in another?

Pray for wisdom.

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (and our emotional development).

So, make this another day of embracing spiritual, emotional and physical growth.

Blessings on you and me. Amen
