Skill Building Series
A friend of mine has been to the mountain top. Literally. He had a new, fabulous home built on a hilltop overlooking a lake. It was a dream home.
But, due to Covid, that same friend lost everything. He ended up living in the basement of a friend’s home. We spoke recently and he shared a list of his life goals. His top goal is this.
Skill #4
That goal spoke to my soul. It prodded me to get bolder, act stronger, and embrace the challenges of today. My tendency is to coast. To relax, chill, and get along. But courage says, Get in the fight. Don’t shrink back!
Today move forward. Engage. Don’t slack. Don’t overlook. Don’t wait or hold. Whatever fight presents itself today, engage it. Do something today you’ve postponed, delayed, or neglected. Live with courage today.
My friend reminded me, “You’ll need courage to live on the mountain top and you will also need courage to live in the valley.”
Prayer
Father, help me have courage. Help me be courageous. Help me not sit back and wait. Please give me the strength to lead and be courageous. Jesus, help me. Holy Spirit lead me. Amen.
Bible
Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, live like men, be strong! Let everything that you do be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:13 (PHILLIPS)
