What if a broken emotional program includes 30 poorly functioning puzzle pieces? What if, to run a successful program, you had to identify those 30 pieces? Could you list the 30 pieces?
- Your early traumatic events
- The resulting pain you carry
- Feeling unworthy
- Thinking you are worthless
- The ugly names you call yourself
- Hiding your trauma secret
- Carrying it but not healing it
- Finding yourself randomly being triggered
- Forgetting that early trauma is still alive in adulthood
- Living divided
- Carrying and ignoring old, deep pain
- Feeling anxious and irritable
- Finding no rest or peace
- Living with anger
- Living without joy
- Living disconnected from others
- Unable to stay present and connected
- Poor insights into yourself and others
- Over-using logic
- Remaining emotionally under-developed
- Running away from yourself and others
- Living more and more detached
- Needing to get away and be alone
- Using substances
- Escaping into another world
- You use a role to go through life
- Being a Pleaser or Caretaker
- Always fixing and problem solving for others
- Using anger when overwhelmed
- Being a different person outside your home than you are inside your home
This is not a list of every piece, but you get the idea. These pieces make up a whole person. Learning your system is critical to successful living. The goal is to have a healthy relationship with God, yourself, your spouse, and those around you.
Prayer
Father, help me learn myself better. I’m starting to look at the pattern pieces of my life. Father, please bless me with wisdom. Jesus, help me see your healthy emotional system. Holy Spirit be my teacher, counselor, and guide. I want to run a healthy emotional system with healthy emotional pieces. And I want a rich, peaceful, joy-filled life. Amen.
Bible
Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. (Referring to what a person eats.) Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them. (Your inner program.) – Mark 7:15 (NIV)
