Recently, Randy Travis was in San Angelo, Texas. He sat on stage with a smile as big as Texas itself. Known for his velvet voice and country charm, he gave us 16 number-one hits. Among them was Three Wooden Crosses. But my favorite has always been Forever and Ever, Amen.
It’s clear he loves Jesus, his wife, and music.
But on this night, Randy sang just one word: “Amen.”
Back in 2013, he suffered a massive stroke. His right side was left paralyzed, and his speech was affected. So now he and his wife sit together on the left side of the stage while James Dupré sings his songs, and a big screen plays clips of his life.
And the whole night, Randy smiles. He points. He taps along. At the end, with only half his body working, he stands, waves, and limps his way off stage.

Father, thank you for my health today.
Holy Spirit, thank you for living in me.
Jesus, thank you for being my example.
