Lust is a longing. It is a crying out for something you do not have.
If I just had that one thing…
- Then I could be happy.
- It would complete me.
- It would fill me.
- Once I had that one thing, I could be so much more.
Lust is a desire. It is an attempt to fix something.
The only way to make me whole is to create an imaginary answer.
Lust happens when you believe you are not enough.
- Lust is a trap.
- I imagine my solution.
- When one image does not fix it, I make up another image, and another, and another.
Lust is a running-away solution.
What is underneath lust?
Feeling unworthy, inadequate, and unwanted.
Prayer
Father, teach me to find wholeness, identity, and contentment in Your love. Amen.
Scripture
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 (NIV)
