According to attachment theory you have two types of people, attachers and detachers. Let’s look at some comments made by detachers:
Here are the rules of my life.
Be nice.
Be quiet.
And remember, no one wants to hear from you.
Early, I discovered life was hard. No one wanted to help me. So I concluded I must be of little value. That’s when I knew I’d have to go through life alone.
I hated my childhood. The other kids were mean. I was frequently laughed at. So I developed a way to protect myself: Don’t need others.
I hate this question. “How are you feeling?” I only have three feelings mad, sad, or numb.
I have never mattered much to anyone. So, I decided to over-matter to myself.
I am very good at getting lost in my own head. I spends hours and hours there everyday.
I have reached some major life conclusions.
-I am all alone.
-No one wants to know me.
-And living around others but living separate is the safest way to live.
Prayer
Father, thank you that you know me and love me. Thank you that you’re always willing to listen. Thank you for sending Jesus and the Holy Spirit. And thank you that my name is in your book of life. Amen.
Bible Connection
Jesus said.
But I have called you friends, because everything I have learned from my father I made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you… This is my commandment to you: Love one another.
