You live in two worlds—one emotional and one spiritual. And you carry a narrative for each.
Growing up, you developed an emotional narrative about yourself. Later, you were introduced to a spiritual narrative— God’s view of you.
One of your life assignments is this: bring your emotional self-view into alignment with God’s view of you.
The Challenge- Your emotional self-view was formed early. It was shaped by people and experiences— especially the negative ones. Wounds, pain, and trauma helped shape how you see yourself.
Which of these thoughts still drive your soul?
- I’m not good enough
- I am a failure
- No one wants me
- I’m not smart enough
- Others are better than me
Jesus said:
“…the blind now see, the crippled now walk…the deaf now hear… and the poor and broken are given the hope of salvation.” Luke 7:22 TPT
What Is the Hope of Salvation? God is not done with me. My past is not my future. I am being transformed. I am an imperfect, beloved son.
Close:
When your emotional narrative says:”You are a failure and nothing will change…”
The hope of salvation says: “God is still working on me. And, today I am an imperfect, beloved son of Abba.”
Prayer:
Father, please bring my self-view into alignment with Your greater truth. I submit my thinking to You. Renew my mind and restore my heart. Amen.
Scripture:
“…putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” – 1 Thes. 5:8 NIV
