I’m listening to some trauma experts. One says, “trauma is where you spin off a part of yourself.”
She explained, you “spin off” living open and curious as a boy. After trauma, you stop expressing needs, start living closed and just survive.
I’m reading a book written by a man who was raised by an abusive father. He said, “I remember the exact day I broke down and gave up! From that day forward, everyday, I spent hours and hours daydreaming about a different life.”
What if early in life you stopped being curious?
What if you stopped expressing wants and needs because no one was listening?
What if you put up a wall for self protection and survival?
Spiritually- Ask Jesus if your curious boy could go for a long walk with him.
Emotionally- Walk in more openness. Share an old thought with a safe friend today.
God bless us one and all.
