To be healthy, you need to be fueled by love. Three loves are the best. But you can live very well on two. Here are the three loves:
You need a Father’s love.
You need the love of your Heavenly Father.
You need to walk in love.
You need a Father’s Love
You need a Father that speaks these words over you. You are my son. You and I are a lot alike. I love you. You’re precious to me. If you fall down, I will be there to pick you up. You are of great value and worth. I look forward to becoming best friends and walking through life together.
You need the love of your Heavenly Father.
He proclaims. I love you. I pursue you. I will run to greet you. I will pay the ultimate price for you. You are my beloved. Your name is in my book of life. In you I take delight, and I am well pleased. I have a place prepared for you. And you will be with me forever. I look forward to spending eternity together.
You must walk in love. (Or love yourself.)
Allow me to express some self-hate-truths. So, you can see the un-love you tell yourself:
I’m stupid. No one wants me. I am not good enough. I am bad. I’m a loser and a failure. I hate myself. I can’t win. I mess up everything. I am just a screw up. I will always be rejected because that is who I am. No one wants to know me. And finally, I will live and die confused and unwanted.
Aside
A mother’s love is a necessity. But a father’s love shapes masculinity. The love of a wife is wonderful. But the above three loves are foundational to writing a love story.
Prayer
Father, help me run my emotional system on love. I’ve picked up some self-hate-truths. My father loved me in his own limited way. Help me run on your love and your truths. Help me stop any negative self-talk. Bless me please. Amen.
