Fear drives all unhealthy behavior. You will have to dig down into your soul, but if you look, you will find fear drives all negative behavior. Here are some examples.
- If you worry, fear is driving it.
- Are you a pleaser? If yes, it’s driven by fear.
- If you find yourself a perfectionist, fear is driving you.
- Are you angry? It’s because of hurt and fear.
- Do you have low self esteem? That’s just lingering old fear.
- Are you a person who is controlling? If so, it’s because of fear.
- Do you have an addiction? Addictions start as an attempt to soothe a fear.
- Do you struggle with self doubt? Fear drives that feeling.
- Are you fearful? If so, it’s because fear dominates your soul.
Conclusion
It’s critical to learn, label, and face your fear. As a child, situations overwhelmed you. Today, fear warns you. It shouts: “This moment is like that old traumatic moment.” And the body immediately responds with fight or flight. That’s fear.
Prayer
Father, fear lives large in me. It hinders my rest and steals my joy. Help me start to see my fear. Help me label it as fear. And help me bring it into your presence. I make staying in your presence the desire of my heart. Because all fear is soothed there. Amen.
Bible Connection
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. – 1 John 4:18 (LSB)
