You succeed in life through plans. You develop plans to make your life easier. When you have a challenge, you make a plan.
To get married you make a wedding plan. It includes a seating plan and a honeymoon plan. For money management you set up a budgeting plan. Or in a larger context, it’s a financial plan. Which often includes a retirement plan.
Other life plans include parenting, travel, long-term care, and funeral plans.
So, here’s today’s question. Do you have an Emotional Growth Plan? And is it working? You are an emotional and spiritual being, and you are called to growth in these areas. Here are six questions to determine if your Emotional Growth Plan is working:
- How do you respond when you’re emotionally upset and triggered?
- Do you have negative beliefs that torment you?
- When are your behaviors out of alignment with your spiritual beliefs?
- Are you generally peaceful?
- Is your emotional system restful most of the time?
- And do the things of God bring you great joy?
Prayer
Father, you made me. You made me an emotional and spiritual being. I want to keep growing in both of these areas. I’m asking you to help me run my emotional system in alignment with your spiritual system. Help me find peace, rest, and joy in your presence. Amen.
Bible Connection
Jesus brought his emotions into alignment with his Father’s spiritual plan.
My Father, if there’s any way you can deliver me from this suffering, please take it from me. Yet what I want is not important, for I only desire to fulfill your plan for me. – Matthew 26:39 (TPT)
