Here are some of my fears, questions, and inner confusion.
- What if there is something everyone else knows but no one told me?
- What if life is lived on the main road and I’ve spent my whole life on a side trail?
- How come some people live life so easily and I have to slog my way through every day?
- Am I doing something wrong? Why is life such a fight?
- When I was young and the slow kid I always followed someone smarter. Who do I follow now?
- Where are the wise, joy-filled, excited, older leaders?
- And have you noticed? No one seems to be living the same life as you. Where is my role model? Who is my assigned mentor?
- Also, have you noticed life is full of so much aloneness? What’s that all about?
- Why do so many people hate themselves? They say terrible things about themselves.
- I heard once addictions are attempts to run away from yourself. Why do so many people need to run away from themselves?
- Spending a lifetime hating yourself makes no sense. But how come you freak out church people if you say, “I’m going to love myself?”

Father, thank you for letting me vent my inner confusion. I need a Father that lets me question and explore issues. When I’m confused, I know I can always find rest in you? Amen.
