Everyone has unique thoughts. Men seldom think about how they think. To change, a man must first understand his own thought process. To narrow this broad topic let’s start with a question. What are your thoughts about emotions, relationships, and connecting with a wife?
One husband shared the following.
I live in my own head. Sometimes it’s fun and carefree. Other times it’s a dark and scary place. Mostly I just want to be left alone.
When I hear someone else’s feelings or emotions, I ask “What does this have to do with me?” My next thought is, “Can’t you just deal with this on your own? That’s what your head is for, use it. Figure things out. Deal with it alone. That’s what I do.” If the person is still stuck and can’t come up with an answer, then I conclude, “I guess I have to help fix your problem.”
I fix problems for others. Not to just help them, but so they can leave me alone. Finally, I get to return to my own head and go back to entertaining myself.
What kind of emotional connection would this husband develop with his wife?
Prayer
Father, thank you that I can be honest and review my thoughts in your presence. Thank you that you know my heart, mind, and soul. And you still love me. Can you please help me move from my old emotional program to one like Jesus? Amen.
Bible Connection
Keep creating in me a clean heart. Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please you.
