Equipping Christian Men for Richer Relationships

Hope for Change

If you want to stay the same, just keep repeating these thoughts and behaviors.

  • No one can help me.
  • Pretend everything is fine.
  • Just ignore difficult issues.
  • Keep repeating-I’ve always been this way.
  • And people can’t change.
  • Stay closed and private.
  • Lie to yourself.
  • Repeat, I am not enough.
  • And I’ve never been enough.
  • Secretly battle shame.
  • Make towards change. Take two steps. Then quit. Repeat over and over.
  • Finally, just use an addiction to cope and to soothe your hard life.

But, If you want to change,

  • Pray and ask for wisdom.
  • Ask Father, Son and Holy Spirit to journey with you.
  • Start your growth mission.
  • Start asking, how do I make one small change?
  • Begin opening up.
  • Learn and face your fears.
  • Never stop learning and growing.

Prayer

Father, help me especially in my stubborn areas. Change is hard. Growth is difficult. But I submit to your better ways. I am yours. Please help me. Amen.

Bible Connection

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6. NIV
