Have you considered your hear, mind, soul, and body?
Your daily mission is to:
- Love Abba
- Study the life of Jesus
- Walk daily with the Holy Spirit, and
- Run an emotional system in harmony with the above
How does the Bible outline your emotional system? Your emotional system includes four parts. Those parts involve your heart, soul, mind, and body.
Simple definitions include the following.
- Heart- your passionate, relationship part
- Mind- your reasoning and decision making part
- Soul- your beliefs, emotions and actions
- Body- your physical and sensing part
He is some of what the Bible says.
Heart
Love the Lord you’re God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself. – Luke 10:27 (NIV)
Soul
Jesus said. My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me… My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will. Matthew 26:38-39 (NIV)
Mind
The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. – Romans 8:6 (NIV)
Body
If there is a natural body, there’s also a spiritual body. So it is written: The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 1 Corinthians 15:45-46 (NIV)
So, to clarify, your daily mission is to:
- Love Abba
- Study the life of Jesus
- Walk daily with the Holy Spirit, and
- Run an emotional system (including heart, soul, mind, and body) that supports the above.
There are no greater commandments than these.
First, love the Lord, your God with all your heart with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength. Second, love your neighbor as yourself. – Mark 12:29-31 (NIV)
Prayer
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, help me love. Help me love in my heart, soul, mind, and body. Help me love like Jesus. Amen.
