If a husband is growing, healthy, and insightful, here is what he might ask of his wife.
Dear Love,
I’m not always good at using words to express myself, so I took some time and wrote a list. It’s a list of wants, wishes, and dreams.
- I want to be seen, enjoyed and loved.
- I want you to make me feel safe. Criticism makes me feel unsafe.
- I want you to be my friend and I want us to laugh a lot together.
- I want you to be my traveling companion. And I want us to explore God’s creation together.
- I want you to be fun, playful, and restful. Let’s be the best of friends.
- Can you please see Me? Meaning can you see the Me beyond my flaws?
- I love inspiration, motivation, and growth. Can you share inspiration and motivation with me?
- I want to be a leader and a follower. Can you also lead and follow at different times?
- I want to grow old with you. But I want us to always be young souls.
- I want us both to love Abba, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. And I want us to build Heaven’s kingdom together.
- Finally, I want you to pass away before I do–I want to be the one sitting at your bedside holding your hand.
Prayer
Father, you are the author of the greatest love story. Thank you for Jesus and his example of intimate, connected love. Help me grow in depth and relationship connection. Amen.
Bible
So, I give you now a new commandment: Love each other just as much as I have loved you.
John 13:34-35 (TPT)
