Don’t you just love and hate change? Everyone loves fresh, new, exciting change. But difficult, confusing change, I hate!
Why? Because it usually results in making mistakes. Mistakes mean failure and failure is risky. Failure means standing out, being laughed at, embarrassed, and humiliated.
It exposes me, my weakness, and my slow, simple, thinking process.
What makes sense and is easily understood by others often confuses me. The first time I do something, I usually do it wrong.
I hate change because it exposes me as a slow learner. You know, the slow kid.
It reminds me that my brain is different. I hate being different. Remember, the slow, different kids get humiliated.
In closing
I am so glad I’ve grown up. Failure is a little more manageable as an adult.
Prayer
Father, thank you for walking with me through life. Life is so full of risks, challenges, and decisions. I can make it, knowing you are by my side. And thank you for grace, forgiveness, and an eternal home. I love you and your promises. Amen.
