Earning approval and receiving praise feels good. But neither can fill your love bucket.
If your love bucket was empty as a child, you naturally searched for ways to fill it.
Approval is one way to feel seen, valued, and appreciated. But being admired for acting good is not the same as being loved for who you are.
Approval is like earning a “Hard Worker” certificate. Every certificate quietly teaches you to shape part of yourself into a people-pleasing, approval-earning machine.
Still, your love bucket remains empty.
Earned approval is not the same as unconditional love and acceptance.
So you quietly live with an empty place inside. But that place does not stay quiet. It becomes a restless ache—a gnawing discontentment.
Over time, that inner ache drives a person in one of three directions: anger, depression or secret pleasure.
The truth is this:
We are all searching for deep, abiding love. Sadly, some of us have settled for earned approval.
Close-
Living on approval is like trying to survive on cotton candy. It may taste sweet for a moment, but it has no power to nourish your soul.
Prayer-
Father, You created my heart for deep, abiding love. No amount of approval can satisfy what only You can fill. Please fill me. Amen
Scripture-
“Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.” Eph. 3:17 TPT
