If you could design a best friend, what emotional skills would he possess? How would he act? What traits and qualities would he practice?
- He would be a calming, comforting, presence.
- His soul would be built on joy.
- He would carry an abundance of compassion, understanding, and support.
- Life can be so hard. My friend would be loaded with empathy and encouragement.
- He would be hungry for growth, learning, and new insights.
- His soul would be full of love and laughter.
- His mind would be creative and inspirational.
- He would love traveling and exploring God’s creation.
- He would appreciate the same activities and sports I do.
- Finally, he would love Jesus a lot.
Since, no single person can match this list, I turn to Jesus. He’s my eternal, always present, always comforting companion.
Prayer
Father, thank you for friends and companions who love and comfort me. Thank you that I can hope, dream, and wish. Thank you for Jesus, my ever present and ever loving friend. Amen.
