Point #1
Trauma training says, “It’s not what happened to you that is the problem. You already survived the trauma. It’s the TAKE-AWAY from your early traumas.
Point #2
As a child you didn’t understand life or mature thinking. You used simple, child thinking. “Mom and Dad are good. Others are good. I am bad.”
Point #3
Over the years you got better at repeating how bad you are. (Shaming yourself) “I’m so stupid. I always mess up. I’m not like others. No one wants me….”
Point #4
Jesus says, “You are chosen, forgiven and known as a friend of God.”
Shame says. “You are bad, alone and unwanted.”
Decision
Will you live daily, tormented by old, wounded, boy language (shame)? Or, will you allow your heart to hear the words of Jesus. “All you who are weary, come to me. And, I will give you (truths about yourself that will lead to deep, abiding) rest.”
Amen
