I thought if people really liked me—it would fix me.
I thought if I became the hero for others—
it would fix me.
I thought if I became outstanding at work—
it would fix me.
I thought if I solved the problems of others-
it would fix me.
I thought if I became everyone’s best friend—
it would fix me.
I thought if I became a model of success—
it would fix me.
I thought if I worked really hard—
it would fix me.
I thought if I was more motivated than anyone else—
it would fix me.
I thought if I became an overachiever—
it would fix me.
Fix me from what, you ask?
From feeling defective, being unwanted, experiencing too little love, feeling different and stuck.
Close-
Everything I’ve tried has failed to fix me. Today I know what doesn’t work.
Prayer-
Father, I think I’ve been running away from myself. I must confess that I have never liked myself. I am admitting it to you in hopes of finding an Abba solution. Please bless me . Amen
Scripture-
“Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.”
—Matthew 7:7 (TPT)
