Father, I need to talk to You about my wife. Thank You that I can tell You everything. No one understands like You do.
My wife is unusual, quirky, odd, different—unique. She can be hurt, moody, expressive, and special. She is a walking, wounded adult with a lifetime of painful stories.
No… wait.
I started talking about her, but somewhere along the way I began describing myself too.
What I’m really trying to say is this: She’s a mess. I’m a mess. Together, we’re a mess.
Father, do I understand this correctly?
You believe these two lives can be blended into one? Not only that—You’re asking me to help lead that assignment. And it’s not a short assignment. It’s a lifetime one. Year after year, leading with one mission: to grow closer.
Close:
Give me eyes to see and a heart big enough for the assignment. Thank You for believing in me even when I struggle to believe in myself. I accept.
Prayer:
Father, let nothing stop me from growing in love. Make me more like You and like Jesus. Holy Spirit, please lead. Amen.
Scripture:
“Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another…”. Col. 3:12–13 NIV
