There are two concepts that are starting to be put side by side more often: View of Self and View of Others. How you respond to these two concepts reveals the health of your soul.
What thoughts are representative of your View of Self?
“I’m not like others. I carry around a lot of inner chaos. Coping and surviving is what I do. I can’t let anyone know me. Much of my story is full of sadness, brokenness and pain. I don’t even like myself.”
What is your View of Others?
“Everyone has problems and struggles. They just cope, survive and seek a little pleasure. No one I know is really happy.”
Now let’s add some Jesus thinking to the picture.
Jesus’ View of You.
You are chosen, loved and forgiven. You have been given two amazing gifts. The gift of the Holy Spirit and the gift of grace. And you have been given a new title, friend of God.
Jesus’ View of People.
They are lost, weary, and ignorant. And they are prodigals and blind guides. He saw people with a heart of compassion. They are sheep without a shepherd. And they are sick in need of a doctor.
Don’t you just love Jesus’ thinking. It’s a good day to lay down some old thinking and pick up some Jesus thinking.
Prayer
Father, please bless me today. May I embrace Jesus thinking in my soul. Amen.
