Here are some common thoughts about change. They are mixed in with Alcohol Anonymous (AA) sayings. These are meant help spur us on through difficult changes.
- Grow through whatever you’re going through.
- Nothing changes if nothing changes.
- You’re only as sick as your secrets.
- If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.
- Strive for progress not perfection.
- The program works if you work the program.
- No one changes until they become sick and tired of staying the same.
- Let go and let God.
- Watch out for H.A.L.T. (The times you get hungry, angry, lonely, or tired.)
- Take it one day at a time.
- You can’t think your way into right living; you have to live your way into right thinking.
- God never closes one door without opening another–but it can be hell in the hallway.
- We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Father, I know you are in the growth and change business. Thank you for walking patiently with me through every life change. And thank you also, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
