What are ten healthy emotional practices that at the same time are mature, spiritual practices? Here’s a list:
- Talk with Abba every day. Talk to him about everything and anything. And read his Word for growth and insights.
- Practice gratitude. Look around. Find something for which you can be grateful.
- Do not participate in negative self-talk. No belittling, insulting, or shaming yourself.
- Try not to complain. Overlook the little things that want to hijack and ruin your day.
- When you throw a fit, and we all do, recover as quickly as possible. Work on staying mad for shorter and shorter periods.
- Beauty surrounds you. Look for and celebrate something of beauty each day.
- Be grateful for your relationships. Tell others how much you appreciate them.
- Have a servant’s heart. Serve others with gratitude.
- Practice peace, rest, and joy.
- Wake up every morning and thank Abba for a new day of life. Go to bed every evening thanking him for the day.
Prayer
Father, thank you for healthy emotional and spiritual practices. And thank you that I can live a discipled life that includes these practices. Father may my life glorify you. Amen.
