Equipping Christian Men for Richer Relationships

From Her

A wife expresses her thoughts.

I know you love me. But do you work on connecting with me?
You love me! How do I know?
You are a good provider, sacrificial, work hard, give of yourself, share, love your family, protect us, take care of our home, and help when I ask. But I need you to work on connecting to ME.
Randomly grab for my hand. Give me one-minute hugs.
Whisper something you like about me. Thank me.
Look deep into my eyes. Be curious about me.
Explore feelings with me. Hold-space for my feelings.
Don’t get upset because I’m struggling. Comfort me when I’m in pain.
I will ask when I need you to fix something. Otherwise, when I struggle, learn me. Don’t try to fix me.
Be my best friend. Restfully engage me.

Prayer

Father, help me. Please give me wisdom. Help me connect and bond to my wife. I want her to feel my love. Please grow great love in me. Amen.

Bible

In this same way, husband’s ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife, loves himself.
Ephesians 5:28 (NIV)
