Chuck DeGroat, pastor and therapist, was interviewed on a recent podcast. The Dashboard outline below is his idea. The explanation of terms are my thoughts. Chuck said we all run a dashboard. That dashboard has 5 lights. The lights indicate health and are green or red.
- Do your thoughts run on healthy, comforting green light? Or, troubling, struggling red light?
- How are the feelings you carry? Do you carry peaceful, restful green light feelings? Or ugly, heavy red light feelings?
- Is your body state one of easy and relaxed green light? Or do you run on tension and agitation, red light status?
- Would you describe your behaviors as healthy and wholesome, green light behaviors? Or are you caught up in secretive, destructive red light behaviors?
- Are you developing solid, maturing, interpersonal, green light relationships? Or are you living a detached, loner red light existence?
Closing
You have a Dashboard with green and red lights. How green is your Dashboard? And how many concerning red lights are flashing?
Prayer
Father, your ways are better than my ways. Jesus was the perfect example of the best life ever lived. Help my ways to like his ways. Strengthen me in the five areas reviewed. Amen.
