Does God want “ME”? Or, does he want me only if I change and become someone else?
I’ve heard:
- You must die to your self!
- Your heart is wicked.
- You are sinful by your nature.
- Your flesh is bad.
- You’re not good. No one is good.
- Just be a spiritual being!
I’ve read and heard these things all my life.
It sounds like God doesn’t want “ME”. He just wants to look down and see millions of Jesus-look-a-likes walking around.
“Be Jesus or be a loser!”
The Christian faith can be confusing at times. I’ve matured. Here is what I’m thinking now.
God made me.
He loves my heart.
God likes my mind and how I think.
He enjoys hearing my voice.
God delights in the uniqueness of ME.
He loves me and enjoys me like crazy.
Abba made this whole planet as a playground for me to explore.
God is love. And, he longs to swallow me up in his merciful, gracious, loving arms.
The Father wants to look down and see “Jesus and Me” walking hand in hand.
He wants ME, my personality, my heart and my mind. He just wants me learning from Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
And, he grieves deeply when his children run broken, defective, sinful, emotional-spiritual programs.
He wants me to be free.
Amen
